Provinces, ICT Asked to Submit Master Plans to Regulate Agricultural Land Conversion
Islamabad: As per a news article published on September 21, 2023, the provincial governments and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT)
are asked by Caretaker Planning and Development (P&D) Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed to submit their respective master plans in the estimated time of one week.

According to the sources, Minister Sami sent a directive in a committee meeting held at the Building Consensus. The conference, chaired by the minister himself, aimed to convert the agricultural land into housing societies in Pakistan. The provincial governments and ICT representatives were asked to update the minister about the existence of their respective master plans during the committee meeting.

Moreover, they also updated him on the legal frameworks and procedures to reinforce the rules for land conversion. The minister highlighted that these master plans’ legislative frameworks and successful execution will play a critical role in the regulatory process. Mr. Sami divulged that the committee formed by the government will work on preserving agricultural land. The minister has asked ICT to submit their respective master plans in the appointed time of 1 week.
