District Administration, Police, RDA Launch Joint Operation Against RWP’s Illegal Societies
Rawalpindi: According to a news published on 22-09-2023, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), District Administration, and local police initiated a joint operation to deal with the rising criminal activities in illegal societies.

As per sources, the Director General of RDA, Mr. Saif Anwar Jappa, with the help of Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha, has established a task force. The allocated task force is launching a comprehensive operation to deal with unauthorized housing societies. Through this initiative, RDA will target the criminals taking refuge in these illegal communities.
They will also search for and confiscate weapons and private security personnel allegedly used for unlawful activities. In addition, DG Jappa has publicized that the task force relies on four members who will take action against illegal housing projects. They will make tactical plans for the residential project that keep illicit arms or employ security guards with unregistered arms.

RDA’s task force members are the RDA Director General (Chairman), the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, the Superintendent of Police, Saddar, and the Chief Officer of the District Council. As per official sources, the task force was assembled on Saturday, September 16, 2023. In addition, the working parties will also target the unregistered security agencies supplying unregistered arms to housing projects.
They will take action against these agencies, confiscating and curbing illegal weapons in use within these housing projects. The task force will provide daily reports directly to the commissioner. As per the official source, Mr. Liaquat Ali Chatha publicized that the assembled task force had begun operations against illegal housing societies that fall within the jurisdiction of the Chauntra and Saddar Bairooni police stations.
